Retreat venue
All retreat sessions are held at Kammassaka Zen Monastery and Yogic Ashram in Policeman Spur Road, Wootha, on top of the Blackall Range in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Private transport from airports and railway stations is required to the retreat and all accommodation venues, all located along Policeman Spur Road.
Policeman Spur Road is approximately an hours’ drive from the Sunshine Coast airport and about 1.5 hours’ drive from the Brisbane domestic and international airports. The nearest railway station is at Landsborough, about 20 minutes’ drive to Policeman Spur Road.
Other than the retreat venue, all other accommodation venues are within a 10-20-minute walk or 2-3-minute drive of the retreat venue and 10-15-minute drive to Maleny. Except for evenings, a car/driver is available on demand to escort participants to/from their accommodation, the retreat venue, and Maleny as required.

The Bower – Rustic Rainforest Retreat
2 x pavilions, double room, private bathroom, breakfast hamper supplied on first day of stay (lunch + dinner at monastery recommended).
Lyola – Pavilions in the Forest
2 x pavilions, double room, private bathroom, breakfast hamper supplied on first day of stay (lunch + dinner at monastery recommended).
La Petite Etable (Little Stable)
1 x cabin, double room, private bathroom, breakfast hamper supplied on first day of stay (lunch + dinner at monastery recommended).
Honeyeater Haven Garden Studio
1 x cabin, double room, private bathroom, BYO breakfast (lunch + dinner at monastery recommended).
Food for thought
All meals are provided for retreat participants staying at the monastery / retreat venue.
Lunches, dinners, and morning and afternoon teas, are available at the monastery for all participants; these are included in the fixed fee cost of the retreat venue package.
All food/meals at the monastery are vegetarian/vegan and the monastery is also alcohol-free (not free alcohol!). All other accommodation venues provide for cooking and/or consumption of all food and beverage preferences.
Some accommodation venues provide a breakfast hamper for the first morning of the stay and/or a full kitchen. It is recommended that if you wish to remain flexible in meals options, please BYO, with reference to the cooking facilities that are available (or not) in each of the accommodation venues.
Maleny restaurants, cafes, pub and clubs are only 10 minutes’ drive from the monastery.
